DIY: WINE BOTTLE CANDLESTICKS
REPURPOSED wine bottles REDUCE WASTE & illuminate a midnight soirÉe
Materials list:
Glass wine bottles
Matte black paint (we used a multi-surface chalkboard paint suitable for indoor/outdoor use)
Paint brushes
Wooden dowels
Step 1: Spend summer rosé season gathering ornately textured bottles. Remove any labels and adhesives from the bottles. Wash and dry.
Step 2: Working outside, insert wooden dowels in the ground to hold the bottles upside down. This step will make painting the entire bottle easier, but it is not necessary if you do not plan to paint the bottom of your bottles.
Step 3: Use a paint brush to brush on paint. To make our bottles more multi-purpose, we used two coats of a multi-surface chalkboard paint that is dishwasher safe and weather-resistant once cured.
Step 4: Heat the bottom of taper candles then insert into the neck of the bottle to ensure a secure fit. Always keep lit candles well attended.
