.75 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice

.5 ounces blue agave nectar

2 dried nasturtium flowers, crushed

Edible flower such as marigold

We love using seasonal ingredients from the farmhaunts garden in our creations. Nasturtiums (Tropaeolum) prefer cooler temperatures and are usually ending their bloom cycle around the time our blackberries ripen in June. To give the nasturtiums life after death, I dehydrate flowers to sprinkle on recipes beyond the end of their season. We have both cultivated and wild blackberries growing here at the farmhouse; while I prefer the flavor of wild blackberries, cultivated blackberries are much larger and juicier making them a better candidate for cocktail use. Together, these ingredients give a sophisticated nod to our favorite holiday while we count down the days.

The magic of media:

I applied the salt rim to the glass using agave for a thicker coating that would stand out better for photos.
